About Nikki

Meet Nikki, Our New Health Professional

Welcome to Nikki Holdsworth.

Nikki, 36, has been a registered midwife for two years after completing her training and her degree in midwifery studies in 2008.

She has worked in most of the leading maternity hospitals and units in the North-East and Northumberland and is joining Tommee Tippee as our new health liaison manager, working with other health professionals and for all the parents and parents-to-be out there to answer their questions and offer advice.

A mum to George, eight, and Elene, five, Nikki decided she’d like to train as a midwife when her son was young – though her second pregnancy interrupted her plans.

And even when Elene was born in the car park of the hospital – in full view of passers-by, a coachload of visitors and a patient transport ambulance packed with elderly people – she wasn’t put off!

Said Nikki: ‘I always try to reassure mums that once you’ve had a baby you are never embarrassed about anything again but believe me, I was embarrassed.

Elene, 8lbs 4ozs, was absolutely fine after her public arrival, and of course she and her mum made the papers next day. Nine months later, Nikki started her midwifery degree.

‘I love my job,’ she said, ‘one of the best experiences I had as a midwife was helping a nervous mum have her second baby. She had had a very long labour and difficult time with her first and was very frightened of the same thing happening. She seemed most comfortable standing up – and I was the lucky person who literally caught her baby as she delivered him in moments. Mum was so empowered by what she had done, and so proud of herself. And so was I. It was a fantastic experience for us both.

Nikki makes her Baby Show debut on the Tommee Tippee stand (K50) at London’s Excel on February 18 and 19 where she will join up with our enthusiastic Tommee Tippee team for the first time.

Everyone just loves the Baby Show and the opportunity to meet so many excited parents-to-be face to face while showing them just how Tommee Tippee can make those first few months with a new baby such a rewarding and fulfilling experience.
